What £39 a month covers
- Hosting and the domain pointed at it
- SSL — the padlock in the address bar
- Backups, kept off the server
- Software and security updates
- Up to 30 minutes of small edits a month — prices, hours, a new photo
The first month of hosting is free from the moment you pay — a 30-day trial on the £39 a month — so the bill does not start until you have had a month of the site.

- Your photos
- The words — what you do, where you work, who you are
This is the honest bit. £299 works because you bring the raw material and we do the building. If you would rather we wrote the words, that is on the extras list below — agreed up front, never sprung on you later.

Cheap professional, not cheap.
Building it yourself on Wix costs less and takes your evenings. A freelancer charges £750 to £3,000. An agency starts at £2,500. We sit deliberately at the bottom of the done-for-you range by keeping the job tightly defined.

Is £299 really the whole price?
For a Launch site, yes — that is the build, paid when you order. Then £39 a month keeps it online, backed up, updated and looked after. The first month of hosting is free from that payment. The only way the price moves is if you ask for something on the extras list, and we agree that before we start. Proof Studio is not VAT registered, so the price on the page is the price you pay.
Can I see it with my name on before I pay?
Yes. Send your logo and a few lines. We put them on Harbour, Folio or High Street and send you the preview. Same price when you go ahead — Launch is still £299, Standard is still £599. The preview is a private look, not your live site, and it is not handed over until you pay. We keep it up for about a week. Bespoke work is always seen before you pay; Richard prices that after a brief.
Do I pay before the live site goes up?
Yes. You can pay now on Stripe, or see a branded preview first and pay the same price when it looks right. Either way the live site — on a real domain, as yours — does not go up before payment. The first month of hosting is free from that payment.
Why not just use Wix or Squarespace?
You can, and for about £15 a month you will get a decent site — as long as you build it, write it, and keep it going yourself. Most people start and stop. We do the whole thing and hand you something finished.
What do I have to provide?
Your logo if you have one, your photos, and the words. If you would rather not write it, we will do it for you from £150. We would rather tell you that now than surprise you halfway through.
Do I own the site?
Yes. The domain is yours and stays in your name. If you ever want to leave, we hand over the files and help you move. You can cancel the £39 a month whenever you like — there is no contract.
How long does it take?
Seven to fourteen days from the point we have your photos and words. The waiting is almost always on that, not on us.
What if I need something that is not on the list?
Then it is bespoke, and it costs more than £299. Talk to Richard — he will work out exactly what you need and price it properly rather than guessing. That is the only work you see before you pay.

Launch and Standard can be paid up front or after a template preview — same price. If the fixed price is not right, he will say so and price the real job. You see bespoke work before you pay. A preview is not the live site.
